  • Many of my Family members are at rest here. I find much comfort going to Santo Tomas Cemetery for that reason. My beloved Great Grandfather (Cresenso Herrera Sr.) and his daughter, my Grandmother (Juan Herrera Campos) are both resting here. I see it as being a Historical Place (marker) because, at a time when Latinos were not allow to rest after death at the more popular cemeteries: minorities had their own resting place. For me there is peace and honor and our history is documented here. Santo Tomas Cemetery gives me a feeling of unity (oneness) with my past family/families and their stories. I pray that more folks will volunteer and help keep it clean in honor of all the folks that rest here at Santo Tomas Cemetery. There are no public funds for the up keep of Santo Tomas Cemetery because it is a private cemetery and nonprofit. "Que Viva La Raza."

Blessings and love to you all.

Several of the Tombstones have been vandalized. I spent over an hour trying to find my grandmother's plot. If it wasn't for my uncle's help I would've never found it. The nameplate wasn't there anymore.
